Wireless pH measurement, introducing the 6081 from Rosemount

The Model 6081-P transmitter is ideal for monitoring applications, especially in hard-to-reach or costprohibitive locations. Model 6081-P measures pH and ORP and is compatible with most Rosemount Analytical pH and ORP sensors. The transmitter has a rugged, cast aluminum weatherproof and corrosionresistant enclosure (NEMA 4X and IP65). The transmitter includes a two-line 16-character display with simple and intuitive menu screens. Plain language prompts in 6 local languages guide the user through the programming and calibration procedures. HART digital communications allows access to AMS (Asset Management Solutions) for live process variables and useful diagnostics and troubleshooting information.

Installation and start-up of the Model 6081-P wireless transmitter is simple. Just power the Model 6081-P and assign it to a wireless network with a Model 1420 Gateway. The unit will auto-locate the most efficient path to the host and will begin transmitting measurement data immediately via 2.4 GHz wireless communications. The Self-Organizing Network ensures exceptional data reliability and network stability. All of Emerson Process Management’s wireless devices employ Encryption ,Authentication, Verification, Anti-Jamming and Key Management to ensure data transmission and security. Rosemount Analytical devices include SmartPower™ technology to reduce power consumption and extend power module life while delivering highly reliable measurements with rich HART data and diagnostic information.

The V-Cone from McCrometer, Your Flow Solution

Company History

Located in the farming region of southern California, McCrometer was originally founded by twin brothers seeking a better way to meter the water used for irrigation. McCrometer remains in Hemet, CA to this day although their operations have expanded to serve a wide variety of industries with a diverse portfolio of flow solutions.

Features and Applications

The V-Cone Flow Meter is an advanced differential pressure instrument, which is ideal for use with liquid, steam or gas media in rugged conditions where accuracy, low maintenance and cost are important. With its DP built-in flow conditioning design, the V-Cone is especially useful in tight-fit and retrofit installations in which the long runs of straight pipe required by Orifice Plates, Venturi Tubes, and other technologies are either impractical or unavailable. The V-Cone is designed for today’s most challenging oil / gas production, chemical, food & beverage, plastics, pharmaceuticals, district HVAC, textile, power and water & wastewater applications. The V-Cone combines exceptional performance, low maintenance and long life for superior value.

1056 Dual Input Analyzer

PROGRESSION OF THE DUAL INPUT ANALYZER

The new model 1056 Analyzer from Rosemount offers all of the same great features found on the model 1055 with some improvements. The first improvement of notice is the large display for both process measurements and bright contrast LCD display. The model 1055 will still be offered for quite some time, and supported far past that, for people who have standardized on this transmitter and would like to continue to do so.

FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS

The Model 1056 dual-input analyzer offers single or dual sensor input with an unrestricted choice of dual measurements thus reducing the cost per loop and saving panel space. This multi-parameter instrument offers a wide range of measurement choices, including differential conductivity, dual oxygen and many other combinations supporting most industrial, commercial, and municipal applications. The modular design of the instrument allows signal input boards to be field replaced making configuration changes easy. Conveniently, live process values are always displayed during programming and calibration routines. Standard features include isolated inputs, 6 embedded local languages, two 4-20mA current outputs, removable connectors for power and current outputs, four solid plugs for closure of openings, and panel mount hardware.
QUICK START PROGRAMMING: Exclusive Quick Start screens appear the first time the Model 1056 is powered. The instrument auto-recognizes each measurement board and the display prompts the user to configure each sensor in a few quick steps for immediate deployment.

MENUS: Menu screens for calibrating and programming are simple and intuitive. Plain language prompts and help screens guide the user through these procedures

DUAL SENSOR INPUT AND OUTPUT: The Model 1056 accepts single or dual sensor input. Standard 0/4-20 mA current outputs can be programmed to correspond to any measurement or temperature.

ENCLOSURE: The instrument fits standard ½ DIN panel cutouts. The versatile enclosure design supports panel-mount, pipe-mount, and surface/wall-mount installations.

ISOLATED INPUTS: Inputs are isolated from other signal sources and earth ground. This ensures clean signal inputs for single and dual input configurations. For dual input configurations, isolation allows any combination of measurements and signal inputs without cross-talk or signal interference.

TEMPERATURE: Most measurements require temperature compensation. The Model 1056 will automatically recognize Pt100, Pt1000 or 22k NTC RTDs built into the sensor.

High Temperature pH

BACKGROUND

When Rosemount set out to devolop a pH probe for high temperature applications they decided anything short of the best on the market was not good enough! The result was a probe rated 100 PSI at 145 Deg C and 250 PSI at 100 Deg C. No other manufacturer currently offers a probe rated for temperatures as high as the new PERpH-X line by Rosemount.

FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS

Rosemount Analytical PERpH-X High Temperature (HT) pH sensors incorporate several design innovations that prolong the life of the pH sensor in difficult hot processes. High temperatures cause increased deterioration of the glass pH sensing membrane, increased depletion of the reference electrolyte, and increased thermal stress on all sensor components. Use the Models 3300HT and 3400HT to lower your total cost of ownership and avoid frequent sensor replacement.

The ACCUGLASS™ pH bulb means that the HT sensors resist cracking and have near theoretical response even at extreme pH values. The GPHT glass formulation resists glass matrix breakdown in hot processes while providing exceptional thermal stability to the pH glass membrane. A slotted tip surrounds the glass bulb to protect the bulb from direct impacts from process hazards, and can be rotated ninety degrees for self cleaning action if desired.

The PERpH-X HT sensors contain an enhanced double junction reference that is excellent for extreme applications. The outer gel based reference retains viscosity to resist the pumping actions of temperature and pressure. A custom refill kit including a gel filled syringe is available as an accessory. Preventative maintenance of the outer reference can extend the ultimate life of the pH sensor considerably by preventing concentration changes in the inner reference. Reference flow into the process stream is controlled using a porous Teflon junction that can be replaced in the event of fouling or plugging. The specially designed junction is chemically resistant and has a large surface area to maintain a steady reference signal in dirty or oily applications.
